Kayaking - Coast Guard Auxiliary Training

We're happy to say that we have confirmed a Coast Guard Auxiliary training for those interested in kayak safety.  This will be the first official meeting of the 2023 season for Boomer’s Kayak Group but all registered Boomers members are welcome. 

The training will be held at Wine Down on DeSoto (Formerly WayPoint) from 9:00 am to approx. 11:00 am Saturday March 25th. Weather permitting, we’ll follow with a paddle.

An inspection of individual kayaks will be available and certified kayaks will sport the Arkansas Vessel Safety Check annual sticker.  

Items required for certification are:

1.  Whistle

2.  Red flag or Flare 

3.  Proper life jacket

4.  White light

4.  Spare paddle

5.  Tow Line

6.  Hand pump

8.  Compass

9.  Marine Radio
